MONITORING & EVALUATION INFORMATION

The programme evaluates the programme with participants at the conclusion of each programme (soft outcomes).

Additionally, agencies that incorporate HMP, for example Hull Youth Offending Team and also Challenge & Support Team, similarly monitor re-offending rates of young people who have been on the course and provide evidence of the effectiveness of the programme in relation to re-offending (hard outcomes).

A recent example of YOT monitoring identified that out of 30 young offenders who had been on the programme, only 2 had re-offended 3 months post programme. One individual had reduced his offending from 13 offences (3 months prior to the programme) to 0 (3months post).

The consistent monitoring of outcomes / evidence is an ongoing process and lies at the heart of how the project evidences its positive impact with young people and the 'added value' it offers to any preventative strategies.
